Teacher Bio:
I was born and raised in this beautiful Colorado.  Some of my favorite things to do are spending time with family, camping, hiking, and enjoying music. I keep busy with my 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son.  I love my job and hope to positively impact my students' lives and their learning.

Education/Degrees Earned:

I graduated from Lakewood High School and participated in basketball, swimming, track, and National Honors Society.  I received an academic scholarship to Regis University and completed my Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, the Secondary Education Program, and a minor in Special Education.  I have also completed my Masters in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University.

Work Experience:

This will be my 18th year at A-West!! I was hired right out of college and absolutely love it here!   I was part of the big move into the new building and have always felt very grateful to be teaching in a new school and have so much great technology to use.  I love being part of the amazing A-West community!

Teaching Philosophy:

I have always wanted to be a teacher and still love it after my first decade, ha!  It is a very challenging job, but my passion to help students helps me persevere thru this demanding profession.  I truly love helping students learn and getting to know my students as we spend the school year together.  I enjoy working with all different types of students and believe that all students can learn math.  I feel it is my job to facilitate the learning in my classroom with a variety of teaching methods. Since everyone learns differently and at different speeds, I do my best to differentiate lessons to accommodate learning styles and pace.  I also believe that the use of technology, collaboration, inquiry based learning, and a growth mindset is imperative for an engaging and successful learning experience to take place.  This is most successful when all students' parents/guardians, teachers, and school support staff make a team effort to help all students be successful. Let's all do our best to have a great year!
